Meet Outstanding Young Alum Lauren Davis

The ISE Department held its annual Alum Hall of Fame Breakfast on October 27th as part of Red and White Week and inducted five new members. Four members (Mike Futch, Andres Medaglia, Keith Nichols and Tonya Smith-Jackson) of the class of 2023 were awarded the Distinguished Alum Award, and the other member (Lauren Davis) received the Outstanding Young Alum Award.

Biography

Lauren Davis is a professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University. Before joining NCA&T, she spent 12 years as a senior software engineer at IBM. Her work has appeared in 28 peer-reviewed journal publications, three book chapters and more than 40 refereed conference proceedings.

She is a Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina board member. Her proudest achievement is serving as an advisor and helping launch the careers of 10 doctoral and 30 master’s students. She received her Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from NC State University in 2005.
