The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee promotes the goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion among faculty, staff, students and other constituents in the Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. 

Vision

The ISE Department is committed to creating an educational and working environment which values and welcomes all students, staff and faculty embracing their multiple and varied identities, approaches, viewpoints, and backgrounds. We strive to acknowledge unequal starting places and commit to correct and address imbalances and resolve systemic barriers.

Goals and Objectives

  • Develop a culture to attract and retain a diverse student body while increasing student access and affordability of an ISE degree.
  • Develop policies and procedures while utilizing benchmarks and best practices to promote fairness among ISE faculty/staff and students.
  • Recruit and retain diverse ISE faculty/staff to expand ISE abilities while developing current talent to meet their personal and professional goals.
  • Create and sustain a welcoming environment to promote a safe and supportive environment for the entire ISE body to work and learn.
