Navigating the Data Maze: A Career Journey Through Government Analytics

Abstract

Afi Harrington will review her career path after NC State to explore some real-world examples of leveraging analytics in government while also highlighting key lessons learned throughout her career journey. She will offer insights into working both within the federal government and as a contractor and entrepreneur, as well as navigating career transitions. Additionally, she will spotlight government opportunities for students and early career professionals.

Biography

Afi Harrington received a BS in Mathematics from Spelman College and a MOR and Ph.D. in Operations Research from North Carolina State University. Her professional path includes years of experience as an operations research analyst, consultant, entrepreneur, and advisor/coach. Her career journey has crossed the spectrum of government, private, and nonprofit entities.
