Alumni-Student Mentoring Program

The Alumni-Student Mentor Program (ASMP) provides students of the ISE Department the opportunity to seek counsel and networking from highly successful and experienced alumni. Each academic year, students and alumni sign up for the program and our mentoring committee reviews their submissions. This committee will create a match based on the student’s expressed interest in specific careers and industries.

During their initial meeting, the student and mentor should discuss their backgrounds, interests and professional goals. They should also consider what types of goals should be set for the duration of their mentoring relationship. The mentoring phase lasts as long as the mentor and the student wish to maintain the relationship.

Job Board

The ISE job board has information related to jobs in industrial engineering, systems engineering and operations research. It is run through NC State’s Career Development Center’s ePack system.

Career Resources

The job marketplace is competitive and many job seekers are looking to gain an inside edge. That is why we have a wide variety of resources to help you advance in your career. This includes:

  • An NC State alumni directory
  • A list of career-enhancing webinars and podcasts
  • A list of certifications and professional learning offered at NC State
  • A list of online library access for all 50 states

Volunteer

The success of our students is made possible by the contributions of our alumni volunteers. When you volunteer your time through classroom learning, semester projects, internships and co-ops, industry tours and by reviewing their resumes, you enrich the students’ experience and prepare them for the future.
