SAMSI Blockchain Analytics Workshop

SAMSI invited Hong Wan to present at their Data Analytics Workshop on October 6-7

The Statistical and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute invited Hong Wan, associate professor of industrial engineering, blockchain researcher at NC State, and previous Director of the Purdue Blockchain Lab, to present at their Blockchain Analytics Workshop. On October 7th, Wan traveled to Research Triangle Park in North Carolina and presented on “Machine Learning in/for Blockchain: Future and Challenges”. She was also in a panel discussion on “Blockchain Data Analytics: Research Horizons”.

The SAMSI Blockchain Analytics Workshop, “Foundations for Blockchain Data Analytics”, brings together researchers from statistics, data, and computer science. It aims to attract students, postdoctoral fellows, and researchers from traditionally underrepresented groups in STEM. This results in a diverse body of scholars attending the workshop. The goal of the SAMSI Blockchain Analytics workshop is to advance mathematical and algorithmic methodology for blockchain analytics. It features experts in economics, social science, finance and operational research. The workshop also discusses the main concepts of blockchain and recent research in this area.
