Wendy Blue joined the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering in the Fall of 2018 as an academic advisor. Along with her engineering degrees, she is an NC licensed 6-12 mathematics teacher having completed her Lateral Entry coursework from UNC-Chapel Hill.
Over the course of her professional career, Blue served as an intervention coordinator and mathematics instructor for the Wake County Public School System. She was also a supply chain manager for IBM and Lenovo, the assistant director of NC State’s Minority Engineering Program, and an environmental engineer for the SC Department of Health & Environmental Control.
For more than five years, Blue has served as a tutor and volunteer of the Triangle YMCA’s Clarence Lightner Y-Achievers Program. She is married and the mother of twin daughters that are seniors at Millbrook High School.
