Yu-Liang’s research focuses on the extensions of the classic inventory problem: the Joint Replenishment Problem (JRP) and its optimality solution structures. The Joint Replenishment Problem (JRP) is concerned with the determination of lot sizes and schedule of multiple items in single-facility production/inventory systems over an infinite (and continuous) planning horizon. The objective of the JRP is to minimize the total costs incurred per unit time. The costs considered generally include setup/ordering costs and inventory holding costs. She investigates the JRP problem under replenishment time constraints and the one with zone design.
