Amira Hijazi is a Ph.D. student at NC State’s Edward P. Fitts Department of ISE focusing on Systems Analytics and Optimization.

Research Interests

Amira Hijazi is a PhD student under the guidance of Dr. Osman Ozaltin. Her research focuses on optimal resource allocation in healthcare and production systems. Methods include stochastic programming, combinatorial optimization and machine learning. Specific applications include risk-averse vaccine allocation, product transitions in decentralized environments and parallel machine scheduling.

Amira has served INFORMS, and the Graduate Student Association in multiple ways. She is currently the Co-Lead Editor of ORMS Tomorrow Informs Student Magazine and is the graduate student’s rep for the ISE-DEI Committee.
