Please welcome Dr. Katie Homar to the ISE Department. Homar is the new Technical and Academic Writing Specialist at NC State’s Graduate School. She will discuss how to use basic visual design principles to organize reports (and other documents) for a variety of audiences.
As always refreshments are available in 428 Daniels Hall 30 minutes before the seminar begins.
With charts, graphs, and equations, technical writing is an interplay of visual and verbal elements. In this interactive session, you will use basic visual design principles to organize reports (and other documents) for a variety of audiences. You will also learn how to effectively introduce and interpret data, connecting verbal and elements in technical documents. You will leave with strategies for making reports (and other documents) “user friendly” for technical and nontechnical readers.
