The ISE Department held its annual Alumni Hall of Fame Breakfast on November 4th as part of Red and White Week at NC State University. Dr. Anita Vila was one of the two Outstanding Young Alumni Award winners. Congratulations to Dr. Vila.
Biography
Anita Vila has over 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including research innovation grants, analytics, consulting and delivering best-in-class software that has impacted patient care. She is currently the Head of Product Management for pharmacy services at Amazon. Before this role, she was the Sr. Director of Product for the Precision Medicine, Research, and Clinical Decision Support portfolio at McKesson and Ontada. During her time in academia, she published 18 refereed articles, two book chapters and received grants from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid and the Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality. Vila holds her Ph.D. and BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from NC State and her master’s from Duke University and Texas A&M. She enjoys coming back to campus to talk to students about healthcare technology, making career pivots and having fun along the way.
