Sophomore Maddie Morello, a member of the NC State Swimming and Diving Team, received the Caterpillar Scholar-Athlete of the Day on January 12th, 2019. She is the latest in a long line of scholar-athletes to come through the ISE Department which includes such sports as football, basketball, baseball, track and field, cross country, swimming and diving, tennis, and cheerleading.
Among many of Morello’s accomplishments is her 3.83 GPA. She has also:
- Earned Scholastic All-American honors in 2015, 2016, and 2017
- Trained with the Coast Guard Blue Dolphins
- Qualified for Winter Junior Nationals
- Named Virginia 5A State Champion in the 200 freestyle relay
- Been selected for the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and National AP Scholar
