Dozens of reasons for the quality of the faculty

The Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering currently boasts more than 30 professors and adjunct professors (along with a great technical and support staff, of course).

These are distinguished academicians.

Several are members of the Academy of Outstanding Teachers and have been recognized as Alumni Distinguished Professors.

Several are recipients of national and international awards for excellence in teaching, research and public service.

Two are former heads of this department.

And one is a member of the National Academy of Engineers.

What’s more, no other U.S. school -– none – has more faculty members who are fellows of the Institute of Industrial Engineers.
