Logistics, metaheuristics, freight transportation, material handling, warehousing, facilities design, and genetic algorithms.

Michael G. Kay has been a professor of Industrial Engineering at North Carolina State University since 1992. He is also an associate faculty member of the Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering Institute and the Operations Research Program. He has three years of engineering experience as a consultant to municipal utilities. He is a member of IEEE and IIE, and is an alumnus of CIC-MHE.
