Areas of Interest
Engineering economics, financial engineering, cost analysis and control, decision theory, and quantitative modeling.

Richard H. Bernhard has been a professor of Industrial Engineering at North Carolina State University since 1969; previously he was an Assistant Professor at Cornell University. He has also served as a Visiting Professor in Armenia, New Zealand, and Norway, a Fulbright Scholar in Brazil, an NSF Science Faculty Fellow and a U.S. Air Force Fellow. He serves as Book Review and Software Editor for The Engineering Economist and has previously served as Associate Editor for that journal, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and for IIE Transactions and he served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Engineering Valuation and Cost Analysis. He has received the NCSU-IE Outstanding Faculty Award, ASEE-IIE Eugene L. Grant Award, and IIE Wellington Award, and is listed in American Men and Women of Science and in Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
