Dr. Brian Denton is an Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University in the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering. Previously he has been a Senior Associate Consultant at Mayo Clinic in the College of Medicine, and a Senior Engineer at IBM. He has received the CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation, won the INFORMS Daniel H. Wagner Prize (2005), the Institute of Industrial Engineers Outstanding Publication Award (2005), and the Canadian Operations Research Society Best Paper Award (2000). He has co-authored more than a dozen journal articles, and conference proceedings, and has 9 patents granted and 13 patents pending with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. |

Areas of Interest
Dr. Denton's primary research interests are in computational
optimization under uncertainty. His current application areas of
interest include health care delivery, and medical decision making
related to the detection, treatment, and prevention of chronic diseases. |
