a) Undergraduate Students- (1) Exit interviews with graduating seniors
conducted by Department Head, or designate; (2) Undergraduate course
evaluation forms; (3) Officers of the student chapters of Institute
of Industrial Engineers, Alpha Pi Mu honor society and Furniture Club;
and (4) Interviews of undergraduate students selected at random during
preregistration advising.
b) Faculty- (1) Faculty members actively involved with the undergraduate
program; (2) Monthly departmental faculty meetings of entire faculty;
and (3) Departmental Undergraduate Curriculum & ABET coordinating
committee.
c) Employers- (1) Key employers of program graduates; (2) Industrial
sponsors of IE 498 Senior Design Project course; and (3) Departmental
Industrial Advisory Committee.
d) Recent Program Graduates- (1) IE 498 Senior Design Project sponsors;
(2) Recruiters of program graduates who conduct on-campus interviews

- Process for Generating Program Educational Objectives
a) ABET efforts in IE are coordinated by Clarence Smith, Assistant
Head of the Department. Working with Mike Carter of the Department
of English, along with IE faculty members Henry Nuttle, Gary Mirka,
Thom Hodgson and Jim Taylor, we developed a first draft (03/09/00)
of the Program Educational Objectives that served as a working document.
b) At Spring 2000 monthly faculty meetings, ongoing discussions were
held concerning the college wide ABET activities. The faculty reviewed
and commented on the draft document by email and several iterations
were completed.
c) Review by our undergraduate students, visiting professionals and
undergraduate project sponsors was initiated this spring. Formal review
by the other key constituencies will occur in the fall of 2000.
- Plan for Maintenance of Program Educational Objectives
a) Annual review by departmental ABET Committee and other faculty
as needed.
b) Complete review by entire faculty at least once between ABET formal
visit cycle.
c) ABET Committee coordinates feedback mechanisms on an on-going
basis from key constituencies.
